SUMMARY:Canadian Smart Cities Pitch and Reception
DESCRIPTION:Join us at the Canadian Consulate to meet 6 promising Canadian smart cities companies looking to expand their business to Colorado. They will be pitching for potential partners and receiving feedback from a panel of esteemed judges that will help them bring promising energy\, transportation and housing solutions to Colorado. Following the Partner Pitch presentations\, we will be hosting a networking reception to facilitate introductions and conversations amongst the delegation. We hope you can join us to check out these exciting solutions for Colorado and strengthen our economic bridge with Canada! \n \nWe’re excited to feature the following companies: \n\nGeosource designs\, develops\, drills\, and installs the geothermal field component of clean thermal energy systems using proprietary\, custom-built equipment and geology-driven drilling processes. Founded in Canada in 2004 and expanded into the U.S. in 2022\, Geosource has installed over 400 commercial systems\, drilled more than 6 million linear feet\, and currently provides heating and cooling to over 30 million square feet of building space.\nSafeMobility is a predictive analytics platform that helps cities prevent collisions between people and vehicles before they happen. Using only existing data (no sensors required)\, our proprietary AI models assess the risk level of each street segment and intersection. The platform is grounded in over four years of academic research and is already in use by several Canadian cities.\nJule is a North American clean energy solutions provider specializing in battery energy storage systems (BESS) and EV fast-charging infrastructure. The company designs and delivers fully integrated\, grid-friendly solutions that enable high-power EV charging\, improve energy resiliency\, and reduce grid constraints without costly utility upgrades.\nBinoloop helps governments eliminate permit and procurement backlogs by automating the work that slows agencies down. Atlas\, its AI platform\, is trained on local and state regulations and designed for public-sector security standards\, enabling faster\, more consistent\, and defensible decisions across permitting and compliance workflows.\nDimonoff is a Canadian smart city technology company specializing in the remote control\, monitoring\, and optimization of connected urban and industrial infrastructure. With more than 575 projects completed in 6 countries and over 850\,000 connected lighting assets managed across North America\, Dimonoff is a trusted partner in large-scale IoT deployments.\nSynapse ITS is a comprehensive transportation technology platform focused on increasing roadway safety\, accessibility and efficiency through innovative infrastructure. From intersections to highways\, crosswalks to parking areas\, their products leverage durable\, dependable hardware alongside state-of-the-art software and data collection to provide agencies with intelligent solutions to complex transportation challenges

SUMMARY:February Civic Launchpad: Virtual Event Series
DESCRIPTION:Join the Colorado Smart Cities Alliance for this virtual event SERIES showcasing civic innovation projects in Colorado that are about to take off! \nThis event series takes place every other month on the last Wednesday of the month. Upcoming dates include: \n\nFebruary 25\, 2026\nApril 29\, 2026\nJune 24\, 2026\n\nThe February Civic Launchpad event will highlight CDOT’s use of Intelligent Bridge Management (i-BM)\, a web-based software tool that leverages advanced machine learning models for predictive bridge and culvert management. \n \ni-BM: A Tool for Bridge and Culvert Deterioration Forecasting and Anomaly Detection using Physics-Informed Deep Learning Description:  \n\nProject Manager: Thien Tran\, Colorado Department of Transportation\nPrincipal Investigator: Farnoush Banaei-Kashani\, University of Colorado Denver\nCo-Principal Investigator: Kevin Rens\, University of Colorado Denver\n\ni-BM (short for Intelligent Bridge Management)\, a web-based software tool developed for and deployed at the Colorado Department of Transportation\, leverages advanced machine learning models for predictive bridge management. In particular\, with i-BM we propose a family of Physics Informed Neural Network (PINN) models for bridge and culvert deterioration forecasting. Toward this end\, we have integrated a large suite of data-driven models—ranging from baseline machine learning models to advanced temporal deep learning models—with a physics-based structural deterioration model. Our PINN models are “repair-agnostic”\, i.e.\, they are trained with a historical data where repair cases have been explicitly identified and curated to ensure the data represent natural deterioration for accurate deterioration modeling. Moreover\, we have performed rigorous feature selection to identify most predictive features from multi-modal data (including bridge structure\, condition and traffic data from National Bridge Inventory (NBI)\, as well as weather data obtained from National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) weather stations) to train our PINN models. In addition to deterioration forecasting\, i-BM offers automated anomaly detection tools to identify abnormally deteriorating structures to allow for early detection and prevention of potential bridge accidents. \n\nEach Civic Launchpad gathering offers a dynamic mix of learning and community conversation\, and is designed to keep momentum going throughout the year without overwhelming your calendar. \nSpeakers and content will be announced prior to each event. Please note: registering for one event in the series will enroll you in all email and calendar invites related to this event.
