SUMMARY:Webinar: COVID Symptom Collector
DESCRIPTION:To view a recording of the webinar\, click here. \nJoin us to learn about the Symptom Collector\, a web-based platform designed by Alliance member Chrysalis Partners to allow individuals to report their symptoms in real-time\, from the safety of their own homes\, while avoiding unnecessary visits to overburdened hospitals and testing facilities. Cities\, counties and states can then get a live feed and custom\, interactive map of the granular data\, including symptoms and underlying conditions. \nOfficials from deployment sites Erie County\, OH and Jackson\, MS will join Chrysalis Partners CEO Kitty Kolding to share how this innovation works and is making an impact by helping officials get an early warning and see into a significant blind spot: people staying home who are getting sick and will soon need testing and care. \n\n\nSpeakers \n\nKitty M. SUMMARY:COVID 19 Webinar: Communication and Security Tools
DESCRIPTION:Communication and Security Webinar\nNew Tools for Managing COVID-19\n\nMonday\, March 23rd\n2:00pm – 3:00pm MT\n\nThe Alliance recognizes that governments everywhere are working around the clock to mitigate\, slow and prevent the spread of Coronavirus\, in addition to dealing with the fallout of economic free fall. They also don’t have time to handle all of the request from vendors offering help\, so we’ve filtered some of the offerings we believe are most helpful for your community\, surrounding:\n\nCommunication: people are looking to governments for critical\, emergency information. We have companies offering complimentary services for better communicating with the public during times of emergency\, and sharing best practices across cities.\nSecurity: As more employees work remotely and people access government services online\, the importance of cyber security has never been greater. An attack could cripple the ability for critical services and information to reach people when they need it most. We have solutions providers willing to help cities quickly improve their security.\n\nhttp://coloradosmart.city/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/COVID-19-Webinar_03.23.2020.mp4\nPresenters: \nUgoRound: Emergency Communications – Looking for a better way to get emergency information directly to constituents? Social media and SMS messages have major limitations\, but this application allows voluntary and geofenced communication to target audiences during emergencies and establish. \nUrbanLeap: Community Resource Sharing – UrbanLeap announced the creation of two virtual communities –  one for CIOs and one for City Managers (40 governments across 17 states already participating).  UrbanLeague will provide a safe (a closed group for members only) environment in which peers can explore common challenges and share best practices\, policies\, and approaches to addressing them. \nOdix: Security and Ransomeware\nMalware and Ransomware will be prominent throughout the COVID-19 attack\, and the risk of an attack is higher than ever as governments provide life-saving digital communication and services during the emergency. Odix is offering ransomeware prevention and cyber consult complimentary to Alliance cities right now. \nMySidewalk: Community-Level Data\nGetting reliable information from reliable sources is tough. MySidewalk is offering complimentary\, customized reports compiling virus prevalence\, risk factors\, and prevention measures. With just a few pieces of information\, they can create one for your community – Checkout an example for Denver.

SUMMARY:2020 Civic Lab #1
DESCRIPTION:Cybersecurity and Innovation Challenges\nOver 70 governments were hit with vicious cyber attacks in 2019\, and many attacks likely went unreported. We want to start the year with a perspective on the threats facing cities today and a discussion of new strategies and solutions for protection. \nWe’ll also officially open an invitation for innovative solutions targeting the civic challenges we announced last month (below and on our website). \nWe’ll have both conversations at our first Civic Lab of the year\, and we’re thrilled to host it at the new Cherry Creek Innovation Campus! The recently opened high school innovation campus is a national beacon for experiential learning in high-demand workforce areas\, many of which are essential components to smart cities: cybersecurity\, robotics\, aeronautics\, engineering and so much more! Come experience one of the nation’s premier learning facilities applying innovation to education and preparing students for the jobs of today and tomorrow. \nOur Civic Labs offer opportunities for our membership to engage on topics of importance to building smarter cities\, from cybersecurity to mobility. This Civic Lab will be celebrating the launch of a major new initiative\, the Deployment Board\, and it will focus on cybersecurity with an esteemed panel. A full agenda will be posted soon. \nWe’re thrilled to have the Mayor of Centennial\, Stephanie Piko\, join us to welcome the Alliance to her great City and discuss how Centennial is approaching smart cities. \nKaren Worstell \, CEO\, W Wrisk Group LLC will also be attending. As the former Chief Security Officer at Microsoft\, Bank of America and many other large companies\, Karen will be sharing her perspective on threats facing cities and leading an engaging session on cybersecurity! \nClick here to access the videos of the presentations.\n  \nSlides\nNoTraffic Company Presentation Send 4.3\nAlliance Updates \nCybersecurity – Karen Worstell \nodix overview Feb 2020 \nCDOT – CO Smart Cities Presentation \n20200214_StormSensor_CO_smart_cities_F

SUMMARY:[Webinar] Smart Topics Webinar Series
DESCRIPTION:  \nThe Smart Topics webinar series is focused on exposing members to new problems\, solutions\, and case studies that will fall between our in-person Civic Labs. This first webinar will introduce two of our newest members (MySidewalk\, Vantiq) and cover hot topics like real-time\, event-driven intelligence platforms\, harnessing aggregated data to track progress on city goals\, and an introduction to the Wiki for government innovation. \nJoin Zoom Meeting https://zoom.us/j/139272499 \nOne tap mobile \n+17207072699\,\,139272499# US (Denver)\n+16465588656\,\,139272499# US (New York) \nThis will mark the first in a new quarterly webinar series\, titled Smart Topics\, which will focus on providing innovative ideas and speakers to educate\, inspire\, and motivate our membership. To our government members\, please forward this webinar opportunity to staff and departments relevant to these topics so we can maximize our reach and participation! \nGovLaunch\nGovlaunch is a free and open community for local government innovators to share their smart cities projects and innovative ideas amongst other cities and stakeholders through a Wiki-style platform. Free to cities\, the Alliance is interested in leveraging this platform to document and share the innovative projects that our cities are working on in a convenient format\, in addition to encouraging more inter-city collaboration in a safe environment protected by authenticated\, government-only communications so you can talk openly and honestly about what worked and what didn’t. \nVantiq\nVantiq will discuss how real-time\, event-driven IoT application development is helping cities and businesses quickly build applications that use advanced technologies – such as machine learning\, object recognition\, IoT\, and edge computing – to track and respond to everything moving in and around cities in real time. \nmySidewalk\nmySidewalk will demonstrate how cities can leverage a City Intelligence Platform to make data easier to access\, analyze\, and visualize for reporting\, geospatial analysis\, and information requests. The platform includes over 2\,300 pre-loaded datasets for every county\, community\, zip code\, census tract\, census block group\, and election district\, as well as several custom areas in the country. They’ll show how to create custom reports to deliver compelling updates\, quickly & easily analyze geospatial data\, and how to incorporate primary & local data sources.
