International Smart Cities Peer Exchange

This program is designed to help equip the most promising Canadian companies with the knowledge and relationships to support their expansion into the US market via Colorado. The Colorado Smart Cities Alliance is a non-profit ecosystem supporting local and state governments across the State of Colorado in their pursuit of innovation, and we are the largest statewide smart cities organization in the United States. By launching this Smart Cities Peer Exchange Program with Government of Canada, we want to attract and support solutions needed in Colorado while supporting the economic development relationship between Canada and Colorado.

Goal

Immerse Canada’s most promising smart cities companies in Colorado’s ecosystem and provide the knowledge and relationships to help Canadian companies expand to Colorado.

What?

  • A one-week custom exchange program in Denver, CO from February 23-27th, 2026
  • Small group cohort of 10 Canadian entrepreneurs (1-2 people per company)
  • Government roundtables and dialogue with Colorado government leaders
  • Smart cities site tours and field trips 
  • Demonstration pitch events and connection to potential partners
  • Custom entertainment and cultural exchanges

Who?

We are looking at the following criteria to be eligible for the program:

  1. Canadian technology companies with products or services ready for demonstration with a US infrastructure owner (City, County, Utility, State Agency, etc.)?
  2. Actively planning a business expansion into or across the US market
  3. Considering a physical presence in the US 
  4. Have innovative technology solutions applicable to at least one of the following industries:

  • Mobility – the safe, clean or efficient movement of people and goods. This can include but is not limited to electrification, micromobility, Intelligent Transportation Systems, parking, or first and last mile solutions. 
  • Data and AI – the acquisition, security, sharing or analytics of important data to inform and improve essential government services.
  • Sustainable Cities – more sustainable, efficient and resilient resource systems across energy, air and water. 
  • Housing – improving affordability of new or existing housing stock 

How?

  • Submit an application to the Colorado Smart Cities Alliance before December 5th, 2025.
  • Colorado Smart Cities Alliance will review, select and notify participating companies no later than December 19th. 
  • Participation in the Peer Exchange will be subsidized by the Government of Canada.
  • Once you confirm your participation, Colorado Smart Cities Alliance will help you arrange travel logistics. However, travel expenses (airfare, lodging) are not covered under this program.
